Typical Planter A/B/D/E

Concrete footings are poured for palm tree base plates.

Existing soil and gravel had to be excavated for footings to be poured.

The area under each base plate had to be cleaned of all debris to facilitate base plate leveling.

Base plates were installed and leveled. (This photo for illustration purposes only. The base plate is actually inserted into the trunk prior to installation onto the bolts)

Trunks (with base plate inserted) are placed over the bolts, leveled, and nuts are tightened to secure in place.

Once the trunks are in place, the fronds are sorted by size  and installed individually. Smaller, pointier ones at the top and larger, rounder ones at the bottom.

Planters are filled with Pro-toast (an inherently fire-retardant bark product) to bring them up to the desired level.

Each plant is then individually planted according to the specifications

Nylon rope is used to define the design of the river-bed in the A/B/D/E planters.

Landscape fabric is installed to prevent the slate gravel from working into the Pro-toast over time.
