Interiorscape Magazine Best project 2000 award The Challenge

Remove and re-design the original 'dated' installation. Re-install a fresh, new, contemporary look to complement the newly renovated interior of the residence.

What we started with

The original   atrium interiorscape was dated and and consisted of an overgrown Ficus Benjamina, some understory planting and a lot of mulch.
 

The process

The original planting was completely removed and the planterbed was re-sealed to prevent leakage into the basement.

 

 
Keeping it light

Due to weight and moisture concerns, it was decided that we would build up the planterbed with styrofoam and 'double-pot' the plants rather than planting them directly into a soil-bed.
